Installation Tips

Dome construction is DIY friendly and the links provided above have lots of helpful instructions on building 2v domes. These are just a few things we learned after building 2 domes.

A platform for the dome to sit on is ideal but if that’s not possible, construction of the dome should be done on a surface as flat as possible.

If a flat surface isn’t available, ratchet straps may be required to pull parts together.

Clamps are very helpful when fastening struts to connectors.

This dome we call prototype #1 and is in our front yard. Made from experimental connector brackets to determine the most efficient way to fabricate connectors and the best dimension metal to make them out of.

It also has a door opening that requires 8 different styles of connectors. These will be optional.

It started as a greenhouse but is now officially the swing ring. Once the swing was hung, greenhouse construction stopped as the swing became our newborn’s favourite thing.

With it being the busy time of year for wood stoves, domes will most likely not be available until the new year. Until then if you’d like to inquire about a dome please don’t hesitate to send us an email or message from the c
